IWB is an interactive whiteboard which is used in classes for teacher's teaching and student's learning. IWB is commonly seen in an Australian classroom however is very rare to see IWB in my country.
I have once observed a teacher working with an IWB in a school I used to work in. At that time, I was the teacher's assistant for the 6 years old class. I did not see how she operated it but I saw how students was interactively taking part during the lesson.
Relating to CLEM's explanation of model, there are various software's that can be used via the IWB. The choice of software matters to student's learning.
Maher, Phelps, Urane, Lee (2012) said that IWB with a software is like a traditional whiteboard but it comes with other abilities to save, edit and record. These allows active participation from students to produce their work and widely share it with the others.
When I get the chance to use an IWB I will ensure that I choose the right software that will benefit students the most.
