I did this activity. This activity opened up my perspective on how a common ICT can make us learn from elsewhere that are thousand of miles away from our classroom. Below is the photo I took in Selangor, Malaysia and I sent it to flickr.
Then I got my relative to send a photo of the weather of where she was and she sent me this:
This was a shot she had taken in Svalbard. Her captions as below:
"This was taken on our morning hike at 7.30am in the bay of Reliktbukta in Svalbard on 8-Sep-2016. The location is 80° North, a few hundred kilometres from the North Pole. It was a cold landing with temperature below 0°C. The air was fresh and crisp, the day-old snow making crunchy sound underfoot, so clean you can scoop it and let it melt in the mouth to quench our thirst as we walked up the slope and back, a distance of 6km. There was a low fog hanging over the horizon, dark over the water and white over land reflecting the colours below."
I mentioned earlier that we can learn beyond our physical classroom. For instance the topic is Weather. All photos submitted to that particular email will be organized and can be viewed at flickr's technology in learning page. You should be able to see the pictures above and many more submitted by other students, there.
Regards,
Sarah
