The toolbelt and Universal Design- Education for Everyone is an article that gives me a clearer picture of the 'toolbelt' term that I've been hearing in class. Initially what I have in mind about toolbelt are the tools that we use in living our lives such as plates, telephones and furniture.
After some reading regarding toolbelt theory, I come to know that it can also be used to assists us in doing ICT work. Toolbelt theory is about assisting everyone to use the right tool to complete tasks. For instance Kathryn has found the suitable presentation tool to display an overview of her collected thoughts and information. The concept map she displayed does help us to see her concept of using ICT during practical. Hope you'd do well for it k!!
The toolbelt theory uses a fine defined step for all students in choosing suitable tools which starts with identifying the task to be solved and the environment they are in. Then, one have to look at the skills they acquire to be able to choose the right tool that they can handle or use properly for the intended task.
Starting to find this toolbelt theory interesting? Try the TEST here to understand and gain experience in choosing the most suitable tool for us to use in our studies. Have fun and all the best!
Regards,
Sarah
