Week 1 - (2) ICT simplifies, spreads, helps

I don't think anyone can deny that the use of ICT simplifies our lives, spreads information in a shorter time and enables a helping hand to one another. Currently Malaysia has been tested with a few kind of difficulties such as the hazy weather, the many weeks of no rain, shortage of water supply and the most recent scenario is the missing MH370 plane. In regard to the hazy weather, children at schools are strongly advised not to have outdoor playtime. In fact there are schools from other districts who had gotten the directive to close their schools due to the very unhealthy level of Air Pollutant Index (API).

The local ministry have done a good job at displaying an API table for the citizens to follow up with the haze condition as accurate as possible. I find it easy to understand the API readings table to monitor the haze condition at our school as it is my responsibility to inform the parents if the school needs to be closed down.

On the other hand, I do have pity on tourist whose in Kuala Lumpur for a holiday as I'm sure it will be uncomfortable for them to go sight seeing. Buildings such as the KLCC and KL Tower can't be seen clearly due to the bad haze. None the less lets hope for a clearer sky, more rain and off course the return of MH370.

Regards,
Sarah
